River mining

The gold starts at the top of the hill and is washed down by beautiful rain into the rivers. The different ways of getting gold out of rivers are...

Panning

The water flows into the pan then people swish it around. The gold is forced to the bottom while the dirt is swishing around at the top.

Cradling

Pour water into the cradle and the water flows down and out while the gold hits the board at the bottom

Sluicing

The water flows through the sluice box riffles which catch gold at the bottom.

Dredging

The pipes suck the water into the sluice box and then it gets caught at the bottom of the sluice box.

Hard Rock Mining

People dig shafts by picking and shovelling and hope to find gold.

Metal detecting

People use a device called a metal detector for finding gold and metal. When you hover it over the ground it will beep faster when the gold/metal is closer. Then you dig where the gold is.
