DEVIL’S MARBLES
What they are:
They are naturally rounded and
oval boulders called Karlu Karlu by the local Aborigines. They are believed to
be the eggs of a rainbow serpent (belief of the Katetye people).
Location:
The Devil’s Marbles are found near
Wauchope, 114 kilometres south of Tennant creek in the Northern Territory
Conservation Reserve.
Why they are
Famous:
They are one of the oldest religious sites in the world and they are extremely unusual in form.
