MORETON ISLAND
What it is:
Moreton Island is a large sand island, which is
98 percent National Park. It covers an area of approximately 170 kilometres
square, and extends for 38 kilometres from north to south.
Location:
Moreton Island is found on the eastern side of Moreton Bay,
on the coast of south-east Queensland,
Australia. It lies 58 kilometres
north-east of Brisbane.
Why it is
famous:
Moreton Island is famous as it is
a popular destination for four wheel driving, camping, recreational angling and
whale watching.
