Coat of Arms

The Northern Territory coat of arms is based upon a grassy, sandy mound with Sturt’s desert roses growing out of it. Two red kangaroos are supporting a shield that shows an aboriginal painting of a woman standing between aboriginal symbols of campsites joined by journeys linking them. In their forepaws, the Kangaroos are holding shells. The right one is holding a spider conch and the left one is holding a heart cockle. On top of the shied stands a wedge-tailed eagle grasping with its talons a Tjurunga an aboriginal stone.
