Rules have evolved in the school to develop self-discipline and to ensure care and consideration for others. Self-discipline is the basis for sound character building and gives the pupil the key to develop his/her full potential. Care and consideration for others are basic Christian concepts. Respect and courtesy are lessons to be learned for life.

Punctuality
- Always be polite and speak nicely to people.
- Respect the special authority of the Term and
House Captains.
- Treat people as you would like them to treat you. No one likes being teased, excluded or bullied.
Respect of own and others property
- School property which is broken needs to be
reported to a staff member straight away.
- Name all equipment that you take to school.
- Keep valuable items at home.
- Treat property with respect.
- Leave toys at home, unless needed for a talk.
- Classrooms and the library should only be used if
an adult is there or special permission has been
given. "No teacher/No children!"
- Bike racks and toilet areas are to be used
properly. They should be used only for their intended
purpose and are not play places.
- Follow guidelines for use of equipment as set by school.
Respect for yourself and others
- Uniforms should be kept neat and tidy and
suitable shoes should be worn.
- If wearing a uniform is not possible, any clothing worn must be of a similar nature.
Respect for the school surroundings
- Keep chewing gum type lollies at home.
- Keep the classrooms and grounds tidy by putting
all rubbish in the rubbish bins.
- The gardens at the front of the school are only
to be used for class activities.
- Out of bounds areas are to be used only under adult supervision.
Safety at school
- Be aware of your personal safety and safety of
others, eg. "Stranger Danger".
- Arrive at school no earlier than 8:15am unless
absolutely necessary. Those who arrive before this,
will remain in the area set aside until 8.15am.
Appropriate activities are permitted.
- Children remain in the school grounds from when
they arrive until the end of the school day, unless
special permission is given.
- Anyone leaving school during school time must
have a note or a phone call from their parent or
guardian and must be signed out from the school
office upon collection.
- School grounds should only be used during school
hours, unless special permission has been given.
- Only school sporting equipment designed for
throwing may be thrown.
- Wear a hat for any outside activity. "No hat/No
play".
- Follow the school guidelines for use of
equipment.
- During sporting activities all jewellery must be
removed and at other times care must be taken.
- When eating, sit down in the correct area for
your grade level.
- Borrowing of play equipment from the Sports Store
is only available between 1:00pm and 1:15pm.
- Walk around buildings and concrete/asphalt areas.
- When out of the classroom during school hours,
you should go with a partner.
- Avoid touching others. Keep your hands and feet
to yourselves.
- Adventure playground type equipment should only
be used by the correct age group and only when a
staff member is on duty.
- Leave items that could be dangerous at home (eg.
knives).
- Classroom items should be used in a safe manner (eg. scissors, compasses)
Punctuality
- Be at school before 8:50am and ready to start school
when the first bell rings at 8:50am
- Be punctual for all lessons after breaks.
School Plan - Discipline
The school has a discipline plan that consists of both positive and reactive elements.
Teachers have a classroom plan that dovetails into the whole school plan.

When a student breaks a rule:
1st time : Remind of rule
2nd time : Reprimand - warning of consequence
3rd time : 1st level consequence i.e. - withdrawal privileges - time out
4th time : 2nd level consequence - letter to parent - revise rules - apology - extra task

N.B. The school does not support the idea of early dismissal as a reward as this may place the student at risk.

School Rules
Normal school rules apply at all times when travelling on school buses
Respect other people and property
Treat other people and their possessions with respect
Follow the bus driver’s directions without argument.
Do not interfere with bus property, equipment, shelters and signs by marking or damaging them in any way.
Wait for the bus in an orderly manner
Wait well back from the bus until it stops and allow other passengers to leave the bus first.
Stand quietly without calling out or shouting.
Do not push other people in the line.
Whilst on the bus, conduct yourself in an orderly manner Students must:
always follow instructions from the driver about safety on the bus
show their bus pass, ticket or ID upon request
sit properly on a seat if one is available (in an allocated seat if directed by the driver)
if standing, remain in the area designated by the driver
store school bags under the seat or in appropriate luggage areas
speak quietly and not create unnecessary noise
Students must not:
bully other students
place feet on the seats
fight, spit or use offensive language
throw any article around or from the bus
consume food or drink, or play music without permission of the driver
smoke (prohibited on all buses)
allow any portion of their body to protrude out of the bus windows
stand forward of the front seat
Use designated stops
It is the responsibility of students to disembark at their correct designated stop.
When alighting from the bus, do so in an orderly manner.
Wait until the bus stops before standing to get off.
Alight from the bus in a quiet and orderly fashion.
Never cross the road in front of the bus, wait until the bus has moved away and it is safe to do so.
Use crossings or traffic lights if available.
In case of an emergency or a breakdown, follow the driver’s directions
