We offer a large range of food (vegemite sandwiches to lovely fresh salad plates), drinks and ice creams at very competitive prices. We feel it is important to offer a good healthy nutritious menu. We are hoping with parents and teachers support that we will establish good eating habits in the children from this young age.

The Tuckshop is open 3 days a week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8.30 am until 1.30 pm. Every fortnight, we run a Special Lunch which includes morning tea and lunch for one price. This is advertised in the Newsletter.

How to fill in a tuckshop bag

• Orders to be placed at Tuckshop by 9am.
  
• Please use clean paper bags only (not plastic).
  
• Please make sure the writing is clear to read, the child’s class is on the bag and if the order is for 1st Break or for 2nd break.
  
• A separate bag is needed for both 1st Break and 2nd Break.
  
• If change is due it will be taped on the front of the bag.
  
  
  
• In a case of an Ice Block, Wild Ice or a Jelly being ordered, your child will need to know that they will have to bring the bag up to the tuckshop themselves at the break that it was ordered in.
  
• Please write name at least half way down bag. This is so when we fold the top of the bag down, the children can still see their name.

Having a Birthday?
Why not pick from one of our Birthday Packages? You order it, we cater it and your child gets a lovely surprise plus a little something for his/her classmates and you don’t have to make a cake. Enquire at the Tuckshop for more details.

Operations
Moggill State School’s Tuckshop has been operating in excess of 10 years. The tuckshop is operated by a Convenor, a Committee and lots and lots of parent volunteer helpers. The Tuckshop can only function with volunteer helpers on a roster system. We greatly appreciate the contribution these people make and the committee is always eager to hear comments from the school community. The Tuckshop is a great place to meet other parents and the children enjoy having parents in the school.

Does the company you work for have promotional material or giveaways? We have different promotions during the year and are always looking for heaps of promotion material e.g. balloons, pens, pencils etc., this is another way to support the tuckshop.

Volunteering
The Tuckshop is open 3 days a week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8.30 am until 1.30 pm. On each of these days we need two-five parents (depending on the day) to keep the Tuckshop running smoothly.
We try to accommodate most parents by having options of –

• Monthly Fortnightly Weekly
  
• Full Day or Half Day

The children love to see one of their parents or grandparents working at the Tuckshop, and you get the opportunity to make some new friends in the school community.

Have little ones? Not a problem, some of our mothers in the past with little ones have arranged a Swap Day. Once a month they would work out a day suitable where one mother works on tuckshop and the other minds the children and then vise versa.

Tuckshop Committee
The Tuckshop Committee is a sub committee of the P&C and all profits are returned to the P&C for the benefit of the school as a whole. The Tuckshop is a very active participant in Fund Raising at various school functions eg. Country Market Day, Open Day, Sports Day and end of year Book Sales.

FOOD FACTS

• The Ham we use is FRESH PREMIUM HAM delivered daily.
  
• Apples and Oranges will be available permanently.
  
• Other fresh fruit e.g. grapes, watermelon, mandarins, etc. will be available on Fridays when in season.
  
• Apples will be peeled on request.
  
• All sandwiches & rolls are unbuttered and unsalted, if required please mark on bag.
  
• All food is cooked fresh for each Break.
  
• A selection of Sun Fruit sweets and snacks will be sold at the 2nd break after the play bell only.
